London Fashion Week: The ON|OFF Events
ON|OFF is the UK’s independent fashion showcase during the London Fashion Week and is held between 17th – 20th Sept 2010 at Victoria House, in the heart of the Bloomsbury area, while the main Catwalk Show Space is in the Edward J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House, the neo-classical building sitting between the River Thames and the Strand.
Historically, Bloomsbury is associated with the arts, education and medicine: the area gives its name to the Bloomsbury Group (also Bloomsbury Set) of artists, the most famous of whom was Virginia Woolf, who met in private homes in the area in the early 1900s.
This edition of the ON|OFF events saw the likes of Anna Wintour attending Roksanda Ilincic’s spring/summer ‘11 show on September 20th, while I took the pics below during the closing event: Adam Entwisle’s Catwalk.
His Spring/Summer ’11 retro-futuristic collection combines references to Jane Fonda’s Barbarella-like silhouettes with the minimal luxury of pastel tone Crepes de Chine and Georgettes.
