Museo 900 in Florence: free entrance on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June 2014
The Museo 900, that has been launched in Florence only last Tuesday 24th June, is opening for a weekend of free visits today 28 June and tomorrow Sunday 29.
This museum was first conceived in 1967 by Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti soon after the big flood that devastated Florence and its heritage in 1966; 50 years later that seminal project has been included in the museum display, together with hundreds of pieces from bequests and private collections belonging to the Municipality of Florence.
Half museum of the city half museum of the 20th century, the Museo 900 offers an anti-chronological display taking the visitors back in time from the late 1980s to the beginning of the century.
